Phoebe couldn’t have been more surprised when Carlton, her live-in boyfriend of 3 years, proposed one day on a romantic hike in Sedona, AZ. The ring he presented was the absolute essence of her, proving that Carlton truly knew her better than she knew herself.
She knew their wedding would be anything but traditional. Carlton never seemed the wedding type, and she fully expected to go down to the courthouse and follow with a simple dinner with their families. But, she was absolutely delighted when Carlton suggested they do a destination wedding in one of their favorite hiking spots, Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Phoebe immediately agreed and began designing the perfect wedding for her and her groom. They agreed to keep it simple, and in line with the aesthetic that drew them to Colorado
The only detail Phoebe couldn’t seem to figure out was arguably one of the most important… her dress! Everything in Phoenix seemed too traditional for the destination wedding she and Carlton had planned. Finally, she stumbled upon SJ Couture.
This designer seemed to understand the non-traditional bride... the woman who wanted to stand out from the rest instead of blending into a sea of sameness.
She went to her studio and immediately fell in love with a sample from the designer’s new collection. Jeanne, the designer, was so moved by Phoebe’s love for her dress that she named the piece after the bride-to-be.
Finally, the day of the wedding arrived. Carlton was anxious to see his beautiful bride, and Phoebe was anxious to show Carlton the dress of her dreams.
When she stepped out in front of their family and friends, she couldn’t help but tear up a bit as she saw Carlton’s jaw drop and a huge smile break out on his face. Perhaps, she thought to herself, their wedding wasn’t so non-traditional after all.
